ACE, Grants for the Arts, R&D funding secured to create – Planet Munch – ‘Savour the Flavour’ Musical Puppet Show.
Two weeks ago we were very excited to discover that we had been awarded Arts Council funding to research and develop a fully interactive, family friendly, musical, puppet show. The funding will allow us to develop the creative outputs of the Trim Tots Healthy Lifestyle Programme, taking the puppets and music out of a workshop setting and onto the stage.
The show invites audiences on a journey through the neighbourhoods of Planet Munch where we Groove in the Roots and party with Count Calories of Cake Towers. The excitable bunch from Planet Munch are preparing for their stage debut in an all singing, all dancing interactive production entitled’ ‘Savour the Flavour’. They have spent the last two weeks in hair and make up, starred in their own music video and have begun their gruelling rehearsal schedule.
The puppets were very pleased to work with some new families last weekend at a family focussed art and music session, they loved the opportunity to try out their new looks and props and thoroughly enjoyed Grooving in the Roots with their new friends. The children made some beautiful puppets of their own and some gorgeous costume pieces too! Peachey has been talking about it all week, when she’s not asleep or day-dreaming that is!
The team are pulling together to get the set ready, Hannah is still officially on maternity leave but will be dusting off her brushes to create the backdrops for the show. We are on target and in negotiation to deliver three showcase performance in Hertforshire; one hosted by the Rudolf Steiner School Kings Langley on the 12th of April 2014, one as part of this years Watford LIVE! arts Festival and one in a Watford school, venues to be confirmed…
