Where every mealtime is a song and a dance!

Welcome to a world of beatboxing greens, hula-hooping fruit, and the colourful residents of the Five-a-DayJazz Club and Pulse dance studio. Featuring life-size puppets, an original soundtrack and loads of audience participation, Planet Munch is a delicious blend of playful musical theatre and inventive storytelling, with a healthy message about eating well and living together at its core. Created for children of primary school age, Planet Munch is a flavoursome puppetry treat for the whole family.

Families enjoy a pre-show creative session and after show puppet meet and greet in Herts Libraries. Savour the Flavour is a fun, family friendly, interactive puppet show, laced with healthy lifestyle messages and developed for primary school aged children and their grown-ups.

About Nysa Projects

Nysa is a multifaceted arts company based in Hertfordshire, specializing in participatory practice and delivering immersive art projects and events across art forms with diverse community partners.

Managed by practising artists Kerry Lanigan https://www.kerrylanigan.co.uk/art-work and Hannah Blunden https://nysa.co.uk/artist-and-creative-producers/hannah-blunden, Nysa brings together practitioners from across music, carnival, visual and performing arts to create engaging and innovative events and productions. Planet Munch – Savour the Flavour Snippets

Call for Puppeteers

Puppeteers sought to join Planet Munch – Savour the Flavour – Musical Puppet Show, featuring large scale hand puppets.
Working along-side existing team, puppeteers will be asked to take on multiple roles and must be available to complete 4 days rehearsal.

In addition to puppetry skills, actors need to be able to sing and be happy  to help facilitate lead-in art workshop and after show puppet meet and greet session.

This is a paid opportunity funded by Arts Council England and ideal for emerging puppeteers and actors looking to develop puppetry skills.

All team members help with get ins and outs so you must be willing and able to assist.

Candidates need to be available on the following dates:

Auditions in Hemel, Herts., – 3rd of April (around 1 hour, to include movement, singing and puppetry).

 

Rehearsals

7th , 8^th  9th and 10^th of April.  

 

Herts Library performances dates tbc April-June

 

Deadline for application is Friday the of 27th of March

 

Auditions will take place on the 3rd of April times tbc.

 

Rehearsal Rate – £120 per day

Puppeteer essential:

Interest in devising and creative children’s theatre making

A strong singing voice.

Puppetry experience/passion for puppetry

Physically able to perform a demanding show.

Desirable:

Driving license

 

Current DBR

This role is open to anyone regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
